Van Halen News Desk reports that the upcoming memoir by Alex Van Halen is a “love letter” to his late brother Eddie.

The 384-page book, titled “Brothers,” is set for release on October 22 by publisher HarperCollins.

The book is described as an “accurate account” of the band’s life and times and as setting the record straight on Eddie’s life and death.

The guitarist, keyboardist, backing vocalist, and primary songwriter of the rock band Van Halen, which he founded with his brother Alex in 1972, Eddie Van Halen died of cancer in October 2020.

Speaking about his brother, Alex Van Halen says, “I was with him from day one. We shared the experience of coming to this country and figuring out how to fit in. We shared a record player, an 800-square-foot house, a mom and dad, and a work ethic.”

“Later, we shared the back of a tour bus, alcoholism, the experience of becoming successful, of becoming fathers and uncles, and of spending more hours in the studio than I’ve spent doing anything else in this life,” he adds. “We shared a depth of understanding that most people can only hope to achieve in a lifetime.”

The autobiography will feature never-before-seen photos from Alex’s private archive.
