Chiefs rule out WR Watkins vs. Bills; put G Osemele on IR

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Sammy Watkins and left guard Kelechi Osemele have been ruled out for Monday’s game against the host Buffalo Bills.Watkins, 27, is nursing a hamstring injury while Osemele tore tendons in both knees during Sunday’s 40-32 loss against the Las Vegas Raiders. Osemele was placed on injured reserve, the team announced Saturday.In five games this season, Watkins has 21 catches for 222 yards and two touchdowns. He has eight receiving scores in two-plus seasons with the Chiefs and 33 career receiving touchdowns in 81 games with the Chiefs, Los Angeles Rams and Bills.Osemele, 31, started all five games this season and has made 101 career starts in nine seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, the then-Oakland Raiders, New York Jets and Kansas City.Mike Remmers, a veteran who made 14 starts for the New York Giants last season, replaced Osemele in last week’s game versus the Raiders.
